Ted Germansen was born and raised in the midwest, just outside the city of Chicago. In the summer of 2000, he moved to the small mountain town of Missoula, Montana, where he first began his woodworking endeavors working at a locally-reputed cabinetry shop. Throughout the next 8 years, Ted honed his professional woodworking skills and unique style, becoming nuanced in the practice of on-site installation, and gaining a comprehensive knowledge of a variety of materials and technical building processes. In 2008 Ted opened Germansen Woodwork and Design.

Germansen Woodwork and Design provides an alternative to cheaply made and often illegally harvested imported wood furniture that is found in big box stores around the U.S. We believe in the quality, process and legacy of environmentally-friendly practices that support American economies and jobs.
